Types Of Energy Blocks

Everything in the world is made up of energy, and the same goes for the human body. Since we’re all comprised of energy, some aspects of life sometimes cause blockage in energy flow. When this happens, we tend to feel negative and in a low mood. Carry on exploring energy blocks with us in this insightful article.

Energy blocks is the term used to describe unhealed wounds that may have happened at some point. This blocked energy can lead to other symptoms like pain, stress and even depression in some people. You can overcome your energy blocks and learn to lead a happier life.

Overview and Insights

Energy blocks may occur due to traumatic experiences that one may have faced in life. There are many reasons why these blockages occur and also why they may cause conditions to manifest from the inside out.

For instance, energy blocks are often compared to a set of negative emotions that have been bottled up and left unaddressed for a long period. As mentioned, these blockages can be caused by anything from past difficult experiences to life-changing events like accidents or chronic and terminal illnesses.

Understanding What Energy Blocks Are

An energy block is a phenomenon that causes the blockage in our body’s natural flow of energy. It can also be called an “energy impediment”, a “body pain”, or a “negative emotion”. Energy blocks are like knots in the body’s energy system.

You’ll notice that when you feel depressed or struggling with a difficult time, the feeling of extreme mental and physical exhaustion and tiredness occurs. It may also seem like you’re feeling under the weather or can’t sleep well. All these may be signs that there are energy blocks present.

One would have to remove an energy block to get rid of it. Removing energy blocks may be more challenging for some folks than for others. Sometimes being in a state of hurt or not having expressed feelings can suppress energy flow and result in a more potent blockage of energy.

How To Recognize An Energy Block And Deblock Yourself From Negative Emotion

The first step to recognizing an energy block is examining your life from the inside out. Now, this concept might be easier said than done, especially when you’re dealing with the aftereffects of the blockage.

Still examine what might be causing sadness, feeling of worthlessness, lack of sleep and so forth. In this way, you can identify what’s triggering the blocked energy.

Identify What Is Causing The Energy Centers To Block

Personal energy blocks are what we create in our life that holds us back from being our best selves. These blocks can be anything from a physical ailment to a mental block. They can even be spiritual blocks or emotional blocks.

  • Loss of a loved one, friend or someone close
  • Having experienced trauma
  • Not being true to yourself
  • Putting your needs last
  • Influenced by other’s negative energy
  • Self-diagnosis

Healing Emotions and Freeing The Flow Of Energy

The best way to remove these blocks is to call on your inner strength and power to take charge of your life. It’s time for you to take the reins and start living the life you want.

Look at what you love about the people in your life

Identify positive things in your life like the people you love and all that you have including your proud accomplishments. Take a moment to appreciate even the seemingly minor things that are easily overlooked.

Say no even if you always say yes

Often saying yes all the time is the unfortunate beginning to some people taking advantage. You’re not being selfish in looking out for your own needs as well. Saying no gives you time to focus on yourself.

Ask for help

Sure, you may be independent and used to doing things on your own. That’s a strong character and admirable. But you can only do so many things by yourself. Sometimes asking for help is one of the best ways to avoid that additional stress that would otherwise weigh you down.

Energy Block And Chakras – How They Are Linked

The energy blockage and the seven chakras are both related to the human body and its energy centers. The root chakra is located at the base of the spine, while the throat chakra is located in the neck.

The energy block is made up of energy that can be released through various methods. These blockings are often negative energies that can cause stress, anxiousness, and even physical pain. On the other hand, the seven chakras represent different aspects of a person’s lifestyle and wellbeing, from spirituality to sexuality.

Types of chakras and their functions

#1 Root chakra – The root chakra is red and symbolizes being grounded to the earth. Normal functioning root chakra leads to a feeling of energy, enthusiasm, and ambition. The opposite happens when the root is blocked or unbalanced.

#2 Sacral chakra – Sacral chakra is red and represents the element water. An imbalance in this chakra can cause feelings of irritability and low mood. When balanced, it exudes happiness.

#3 Solar Plexus chakra – The solar plexus is yellow and is the fire element. An imbalance causes digestive issues and low mood, sometimes depression. When the chakra is balanced, it leads to creativity and a feeling of joy.

#4 Heart chakra – The heart chakra is green, and it is the air element. When the chakra is imbalanced, it causes anxiety, anger and trust issues. Balanced chakra results in happiness, compassion and motivation.

#5 Throat chakra – The throat chakra is blue and represents the element of space. When unbalanced, it leads to an inability to speak openly and a sense of intimidation. The throat chakra exudes good self-expression, healthy influence, and positivity when balanced.

#6 Third eye chakra – Color indigo. Unlike the other chakras, the third eye has no element representation. When unbalanced, it may cause a fearfulness for success, possibly a feeling of imposter syndrome. It may also manifest as headaches and eyestrain.

When balanced, the chakra is powerful and manifests how the person feels whole and in control. There is no attachment to worldly materials, and the person is more mature spiritually.

#7 Crown chakra – The crown chakra is white, sometimes depicted as indigo. Like the third eye chakra, the crown doesn’t represent an element.

An imbalance leads to destructive feelings and low mood or frustration. When balanced, it leads to a deeper sense of enlightenment and spirituality, even more than the third eye chakra.

Clearing the chakras will help clear blockage.

Three Effective Ways To Center Energy And Find Balance

1 – Yoga or Tai Chi (do both if you feel comfortable)

Use yoga as a practice to help unblock chakras and refocus power flow. You can also learn tai chi which is meant to aid with the flow of energy or “qi/chi” as it is pronounced in Chinese. If you’re doing both practices, you can alternate between the two.

2 – Breathing exercises

Breathing exercises are a good way to refocus your chi and release negative energies. You can ground yourself through regular diaphragmatic breathing or deep “belly breathing.”

You can also learn the technique called “Ujjayi breath” or “Ujjayi pranayama, ” a breathing technique to lower anxiety. Ujjayi may also help to set you in a calm state of mind benefiting your nervous system.

3 – Meditation

Practicing yoga and breathing exercises are like “steppingstones” if you think of it this way, to master meditation. The techniques help you focus so that you learn to quiet your mind in meditation. Meditation can help you reflect and embrace silence and flow.

Conclusion

There are many reasons why people experience a mental or physical block. Some stagnant energy may be due to trauma, some may be due to emotional blockages that have been released and others may be due to a lack of self-love or self-acceptance.

One way to release emotional blockages is through therapy. One can choose from many different types of therapy, such as counseling, psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and more.
